Graphic design is a craft where professionals create visual content to communicate messages. By applying visual hierarchy and page layout techniques, designers use typography and pictures to meet users’ specific needs and focus on the logic of displaying elements in interactive designs, to optimize the user experience.
It is a creative process that reaches into everything we do these days—from websites to application interfaces to product packaging, our press, the talented hand of the graphic designer is seen everywhere. It is the process of visual correspondence as well as critical thinking utilizing at least one of photography, typography, as well as illustration. Students will learn and apply fundamentals of various software applications (such as Illustrator and Photoshop), web design, and image editing, drawing and graphic animation.
